Aluminum Fuel Tank Skid Plate

Get more protection for your fuel tank with our marine-grade*, rust-resistant 8 gauge or 1/4” aluminum skid plate. Cleverly designed so that you can remove the skid plate, fix any off road mishaps and reinstall it, without dropping the fuel tank. 

Not only does this skid plate offer more protection for your fuel tank, It also really cleans up the look of the fuel tank, hanging below your chassis and hiding rusty stone chips.  

This is a weld it yourself project you will really enjoy! Nests in perfectly with your Custom Scouts steel or aluminum fuel tank shipping box.

*Marine grade aluminum is more corrosion resistant than other common aluminum alloys like 6061 or 7075. Marine grade is the most corrosion resistant, consumer available aluminum.

CNC laser cut 8 gauge aluminum fuel tank skid plate

Works with our raised and lowered fuel tank positions

Fits 1971-1980 Scout II or Traveler with original rear frame crossmember and next forward crossmember with no modifications to it

Extra Considerations

If you do NOT have a 1” body lift on your Scout II or Traveler and you choose to modify the brackets rather than purchasing our 1" Fuel Tank Drop Kit separately, this skid plate will NOT bolt on.
