Cargo Floor Crossmembers – Heavy Duty Replacement - SCOUT II
Couldn't load pickup availability
Built to the same factory dimensions and profile as the original crossmembers — just in heavier gauge steel, so they actually outlast the truck this time. Available individually or as a complete Front/Mid/Rear set.
The hole is not the whole story.
Everybody sees a rust hole in the cargo floor or crossmember and thinks "quick patch." But the hole is just the messenger — the real damage is usually happening behind the crossmember, where rust has been quietly checking away at the floor and the structure behind it for years, completely hidden once the vehicle is buttoned up. Our photos show exactly what that looks like.
Skip that step and here's the punchline no one likes to hear: you finish the restoration, lay down fresh paint, and rust bleeds back through within a year — sometimes less. Rust repair only pays off when it's done completely. Cutting corners doesn't save money, it just defers the cost with interest.
Self-aligning design, about 30 minutes to weld in, full-color photo instructions included.

Front
Sits closest to the cab, tying the front of the cargo floor into the body structure — and this one carries more responsibility than it looks like. The rear passenger seatbelt bolts through this crossmember, and it also ties the seat mounting pins at the wheel wells down into the same structure, unifying the seat mounts and seatbelt anchor into one solid assembly. In other words: this isn't just a floor support, it's a safety-critical part. If it's compromised, so is the seatbelt mount and seat anchoring. If the floor flexes here, or shows any rust or holes, replace it.
Mid
The mid crossmember carries a large share of the cargo load, and it sits near the fuel tank's front strap mounting points — the cargo floor alone can't carry that weight on its own. A sound mid crossmember means a sound floor and a securely mounted tank. Replace it with confidence.
Rear
Positioned at the tailgate end, where road spray, mud, and moisture collect the most. This is usually where rust shows up first and worst — the classic "hole by the tailgate" everyone recognizes. What's hiding behind it is often more extensive than what's visible from outside. Self-aligning design makes it about a 30-minute weld-in install.
